AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES - JOHN GREEN

This book is one of my favourites written by one of my favourite authors John Green and rest assured there is not going to be too many spoilers in here because I desperately want you guys to read this book. It’s a book that will draw even the nerds as well as all the hopeless romantics out there .Its a coming of age book dealing with teenage disappointments ,lost love , ups and downs in life and a lot more along with being quite funny.

When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton's choice always happens to be girls named Katherine. Coincidently , whenever it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. - Nineteen times, to be exact ! This starts as his own epic story as to how he ultimately found love (or does he ?) and a valid purpose in life . But as we move forward with the story we would realise how it resolves around a lot of other characters who develop throughout the story and bring in their own unique attributes to this beautiful tale. Hassan Harbish, who’s Collin’s bestfriend rides shotgun with him on their car journey along the countryside . The narrative is pretty smooth with Collin trying to find out “The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability”, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship and there are quite a few anagram and mathematical references inside the book.

The book can get boring at parts and is a bit drawn but the plot is to die for as there are a lot of exciting stuff happening throughout the tale . The character of Collin is a bit annoying(with his constant whining) to the average reader’s eyes but on close analysis he is like any of us, burdened by the pressure of life and responsibilities. We also get to learn a lot of informative and knowledgeable facts from this book as expected from master story-teller John Green . If you are a Green fan , this should be on your must reads and I personally would want you guys to try out this fantastic read.
